New College of Europe-Fletcher School Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs

Oct 10, 2017

Dear College of Europe Alumni,

The start of the Academic Year 2017-2018 marks an exciting moment for the College of Europe, as it launches a truly innovative degree programme – the Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs (MATA).

For the first time in its history, the College of Europe now offers a two-year M.A. programme leading to a joint degree, awarded together with The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University (Medford, MA, Boston area, USA).

The MATA programme combines two semesters of studies that can be started at either of the two institutions with a high-level internship during semester three and a final semester on the other side of the Atlantic. Students can follow one of five different study tracks: Economic Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, International Relations and Diplomacy, Legal Studies, Political and Governance Studies. For more information on the programme, please take a look at the College website.

We would be grateful if you could spread the news about this new programme to prospective applicants interested in transatlantic affairs.

To make this programme a success, the College would also like to reach out to the Alumni network in search of cooperation opportunities, for instance regarding scholarships, internships or events on transatlantic affairs. Please do not hesitate to write to with any suggestions on how to support the programme.

The MATA programme will be officially launched on 28 September in Bruges with a roundtable on “Transatlantic Relations in Challenging Times”. You can view the programme and register for this event on the College website.

Thank you for your interest and support in helping make this latest addition to the College of Europe study programmes a success.
